Fats Jenkins, left, with Oscar Charleston
Two former Harrisburg Giants – Hall of Fame player-manager Oscar Charleston and outfielder Fats Jenkins – are among the starters in the Negro Leagues’ third annual East-West all-star game 91 years ago today at Chicago’s old Comiskey Park.
Charleston plays first base for the West, while Jenkins starts in left field for the East.
The West wins 11-8 on Mule Suttles’ three-run homer to right-center field in the bottom of the 11th inning.
