A moment of Grace
Today’s moment of pause for Baby Boomers finds longtime first baseman Mark Grace celebrating his 61st birthday.
Grace plays 13 seasons with the Chicago Cubs from 1988-2000 before spending his final three seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
His career totals in the majors include a .303 batting average over 2,245 games, three All-Star Game selections and four Gold Gloves.
Grace also leads all major leaguers during the 1990s with 1,754 hits.
He is one of only two eligible players – yeah, looking at you here, Pete Rose in the 1970s – to lead a decade in hits but not be in the Hall of Fame.
