‍A solo homer by future Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero off Odalis Perez in the third inning of the Montreal Expos’ 2-1 loss 23 years ago today at Dodger Stadium gives him 226 in his career, breaking the Expos’ franchise record held by Hall of Famer Andre Dawson.

Guerrero’s team record eventually increases to 234, but that record is broken long after the franchise moves following the 2004 season from Montreal to Washington, where over 16 seasons Ryan Zimmerman hits 284 homers before retiring in 2021.
