Walter O'Malley announces 69 years ago today his Brooklyn Dodgers could play as many 10 exhibition games in California in 1958.

Instead, the Dodgers' owner abandons Brooklyn and Ebbets Field after the 1957 season and moves his team to Los Angeles, where the Dodgers play ever since.

Somewhere today in Brooklyn somebody is waiting for the Dodgers to come home.
