No pulse for Harrisburg
Today marks the 31st anniversary of onetime New York Mets top prospect Bill Pulsipher, then with Binghamton, no-hitting the Harrisburg Senators 2-0 on City Island in Game 2 of the 1994 Class AA Eastern League finals.
The no-hitter evens the best-of-5 finals at one game apiece before the series moves to Binghamton, where the B-Mets win Games 3 and 4 for their second league title in three seasons.
The Mets do not return to the EL finals for another 20 years.
As for the Senators, they soon begin a remarkable run starting in 1996 with a string of an EL-record four straight championships.
Alas for the Senators, they have not won an EL title since that 1999 championship.
