Major League Baseball 21 years ago today suspends Harrisburg Senators infielder Ramon Castro for a then-record 105 games for possessing amphetamines with intent to distribute.
Except for a brief re-emergence in 2009 with Connecticut in the Class AA Eastern League, Castro never again plays in affiliated baseball.
He drifts around the independent Atlantic League for years, as well as the Venezuelan, Mexican and Italian leagues, before finally retiring in 2014.
