Pittsburgh’s new home
The Pittsburgh Pirates move into their new home at PNC Park 25 years ago today and lose 4-3 to the New York Mets in an otherwise meaningless exhibition game.
The 38,000-seat ballpark offers one of the best vistas in all of baseball.
Prior to PNC Park, which costs $262 million to build, the Pirates spend 31 seasons in Three Rivers Stadium, a concrete cookie cutter that only offers views of fake grass and, well, more concrete.
