Jim Tracy’s message here is clear: He would rather be spending more time today on his birthday with his prized Labrador retriever, O-for-Four, instead of swapping opinions with umpires.

The manager who leads the 1993 Harrisburg Senators to 100 victories by the end of the Class AA Eastern League playoffs turns 70 today.

Tracy also does well for himself in the majors, winning National League manager of the year honors in 2009 and finishing in the top four on three other occasions during his 11-year career with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates and Colorado Rockies.
