T.J Tucker becomes the first pitcher in the Harrisburg Senators’ modern era to hit higher than ninth in the batting order 26 years ago today as manager Doug Sisson lists Tucker as his No. 7 hitter.
Batting ahead of catcher Jaime Malave and third baseman Garrett Osilka, Tucker grounds out and pops out in an 8-5 victory over Reading in a Class AA game on City Island.
The conservative-thinking Montreal Expos, the Senators’ major league affiliate, are not amused by Sisson’s strategy and tell the manager to restrain himself from entertaining such thoughts in the future.
