Ed Temple

Today marks what would have been the 98th birthday for track and field coach extraordinaire Ed Temple, who passes away just two days after his 89th birthday in 2016.

The Harrisburg-born Temple twice coaches the United States’ Olympic women’s track and field team in 1960 and 1964.

His protégés include national track Hall of Famers Wilma Rudolph, Edith McGuire, Wyomia Tyus and Chandra Cheeseborough.
