The first Mid-Atlantic Scouts Association Invitational Showcase for high school sophomores and juniors is held 26 years ago today on Harrisburg’s City Island.

Among the participants is David Wright, a 16-year-old infielder from Chesapeake, Va., who eventually becomes a seven-time National League All-Star third baseman with the New York Mets.
