This Bud’s for you

If you are so inclined, hoist a cold one today to celebrate the 135th anniversary of the birth of Bud Weiser.

Weiser is an outfielder with the National League pennant-winning Philadelphia Phillies of 1915 whose baseball career nears its end in the minors with the Harrisburg Senators in 1925.

Before descending to the minors, Weiser plays in 41 games for the Phillies over the 1915 and ’16 seasons, collecting just 12 hits in 74 at-bats for a .162 batting average.
