The Harrisburg Alumni Association

Ron Chiavacci strikes out 10 batters in a 2-1 victory over Altoona 25 years ago today on City Island to become the first modern-era Harrisburg Senators pitcher with at least 10 strikeouts in three straight games.

Chiavacci finishes the 2001 season with 161 strikeouts, one more than Rich Sauveur’s total from 1987 and enough for a modern-era, single-season record that remains today.

Chiavacci also pitches for Harrisburg in 2002 and ’03 during a minor league career that lasts through 2009.
