Wild thing

The night after he uncorks two wild pitches in a 5-4 loss at Reading, Harrisburg Senators relief pitcher William Brennan 34 years ago today unloads a modern franchise-record four wild pitches in one inning.

No worries, though, for Harrisburg.

Despite Brennan’s quartet of misfires in the seventh inning, the Senators roll to a 14-3 victory over the R-Phillies at Municipal Stadium.

Brennan spends parts of the 1988 and 1993 seasons in the major leagues, pitching in 12 games for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs and throwing a total of only two wild pitches in the 24 1/3 innings he works in those games.

Go figure.
