Jerry Reuss at work during the 2000 season in Harrisburg
The Montreal Expos 26 years ago today name longtime major leaguer Jerry Reuss as the Harrisburg Senators’ pitching coach for the 2000 season.
Reuss, a 220-game winner and two-time National League All-Star who plays in the majors from 1969-90, spends one season with the Senators, helping them in 2000 reach the Class AA Eastern League playoffs for a fifth straight season.
Seven of his 18 pitchers from the 2000 Senators eventually reach the major leagues.
