The Chicago White Sox, fashionistas that they are, introduce 62 years ago today their new road uniforms for the 1964 season.

And they are powder blue, baby!

Alas, certainly for baseball traditionists, the powder blue unis will be fashionable for many teams over the next three decades.

The blue unis still are found today when teams (yes, we see you here, Philadelphia Phillies) dust off the idea in moments generated both by nostalgia and increased revenue streams from additional souvenir jersey sales.

At least now traditionalists know which team to blame for this.
