Remembering the fallen

Michael Horrocks

Two former athletes with ties to Hershey – Ace Bailey and Michael Horrocks – are among those killed 25 years ago today when terrorists hijack and deliberately crash two airliners into the World Trade Center in New York City.

Bailey, 53, a longtime NHL forward and scout who plays for the Hershey Bears during the 1968-69 season, is a passenger on United Airlines flight 175.

Horrocks, 38, a quarterback for Hershey High in the late 1970s and early ’80s, is the first officer on Bailey’s flight.
