The return of Stephen Strasburg

Stephen Strasburg, five days removed from a 2011 injury rehab start on City Island for the Class AA Harrisburg Senators and a year removed from undergoing Tommy John surgery on his golden right arm, returns to the Washington Nationals 14 years ago tonight.

Strasburg, captured here with Harrisburg through the gifted eyes of sports photographer Will Bentzel, allows only two hits in five scoreless innings to the Dodgers, leaving after 56 pitches with a 3-0 lead.

The Nationals' bullpen then coughs up a seven-run hairball to lose the game 7-3 before a Tuesday night crowd of 29,092 in Washington.
